The Grace Church (Gigantic) Annual Yard Sale is held on the first Saturday of May at Camp Kekoka (the Alexandria Police Boys Camp/YMCA Camp), 1083 Boys Camp Road (Rt. 651) in Kilmarnock. The Yard Sale is open to the public; all are welcome, rain or shine.
A highlight of the sale is the late morning Auction, which features cars, boats, trailers, and other large items. Other departments include but are not limited to: Books, Plants, Men's Clothing, Children's Clothing, Women's Clothing, Small Appliances, Treasures, Linens, Arts and Frames, the Outdoor Café, and Indoor Furniture.
Proceeds from this Year's Yard Sale, which totaled over $44,000 are disbursed to community non-profit organizations through an application process overseen by the Missions Strategy Committee.
A major event for Grace and for the larger community, the Yard Sale involves scores of parishioners who pick up and deliver large items to the sale site, sort and price items in the weeks prior to the sale, bake for the Pantry, work on sale day, donate plants from their gardens, clean up after the sale, and handle dozens more jobs to make every year's sale the best ever. There is always a need for help before, during and after the Yard Sale, so please contact Bill Spicuzza at 435-1782 or ksspicuzza@aol.com and he will find a place for you!
